Monet at 6 months

Monet belongs to Elizabeth and is the son of beautiful Lotus. He and his brother Mystique are like 2 peas in a pod. Elizabeth spoils them both and they get yummy food like chicken and prawns all the time no wonder they are so big even though they are only 5 months of age in January 2009.

Monet was my secret love when the kittens were still with me when they were young. He used to come up to me and sit on my lap all the time. When the other kittens were playing with each other, Monet just wanted to play with me. I had a terrible time parting with him in week 12 but I knew that he was going to a good home with his brother and that I would see him often at the show so it made me feel better.

Monet is an amazingly beautiful cat. He has a great domed head and beautiful green eyes even at 12 weeks of age.

We have high hopes for Monet. He is truly a stunning cat. We can wait to see him grow up.

1 Feb 2009 - Federal Kitten Show

Monet went to his first show today with his brother Mystique. The 2 young brothers were up against beautiful Mimi who was almost twice their age at the time (she was 9 months old, it was her last kitten show). As expected Mimi won 2 Best In Show titles but Monet managed to won the other Best In Show tiltle under judge Fiona Cooper.

15 March 2009 - Siamese & Shorthair Show

Elizabeth went away for the weekend and the boys stayed with me. I had a great time playing with them and they played ping pong ball in my bath tub. See video below

 

We arrived at the show nice and early on Sunday as I was stewarding. Monet and Mystique were benched along with Lotus, Dinky and Holly. Mimi also came along but she was competing in the adult section for the first time.

All 3 judges fell in love with Monet so he was awarded Best In Show 3 times that day. Then later on in the day, he went on to win 5th Best Kitten In Show. I was asked to go out and collect his award. My goodness I was so excited and was so proud. If only Elizabeth was there to see her boy win such a big award :) I have the presentation on video for her to see.

 

Mystique also did well, see below.

Must say, we all went home really happy.

24 May 2009 - Siamese Cat Club Show

This was Monet and Mystique last show and they did fantastically as usual. Baby Precious from Fuji's March litter was competing against then but obviously the boys being 6 months older took out Best of Breed in 2 rings over baby Precious. Monet took out 3rd and 5th Best Neuter Kitten.

There were a total of 8 Aaralyn Burmillas on show that day so we had a great time.

Mystique at 6 months

Mystique belongs to Elizabeth and is the son of beautiful Lotus. He and his brother Monet are like 2 peas in a pod. Elizabeth spoils them both and they get yummy food like chicken and prawns all the time no wonder they are so big even though they are only 5 months of age in January 2009.

Mystique is the runt kitten of the Lotus litter. When he was born, he was only 65g. A very small kitten indeed. Since all the other kittens were well over 85g, little Mystique was struggling to get enough food as all the other kittens were pushing him out. For the first 2 weeks, I helped him out by giving him supplement feeds 4 times a day. He grew quickly put I continued to feed him extra twice a day until he was 5 weeks of age.

Mystique is a splitting image of Lotus. They have the same cute look with massive green eyes. I hope he grows up to be just as beautiful as his mother.

Mystique went to his first show on 1 February 2009 with his brother Monet. The 2 young brothers were up against Gemma's multi award winner Mimi who was almost twice their age at the time (she was 9 months old, it was her last kitten show). As expected Mimi won 2 Best In Show titles, Monet won the other Best In Show tiltle under judge Fiona Cooper, but Mystique also did very well and was placed 2nd, 2nd and 3rd Best Desexed Kitten in 3 separate rings.

We look forward to seeing Mystique at future cat shows. We hope that he will continue to do well.
