KOBE and SUMO are owned by Sherin and Kevin in Brisbane, QLD. They are brothers and are the sons of beautiful Lotus. At their home, they are commonly known as "The Little Boys" as Sherin and Kevin already have 2 "Big Boys" Kenzo and Bonsai.
Obviously Sherin and Kevin are crazy about Burmillas and have now increased the size of their brood to 4 neuter boys!!! These guys are spoilt rotten just like their older brothers.
The little boys now join the big boys at the cat shows. They are already wow the crowd at 16 weeks so we look forward to seeing them grow.
The following blog is run by Kobe and Sumo's owner Sherin herself:
25th April 2010 - TWILIGHT TONKS SHOW - RNA Showgrounds
Today is Anzac Day, so what better way than to go to a dawn service at sunrise and then attend a cat show at 1pm, with plenty of time in between to get our cats beautifully groomed! Well we did the last part anyway...not the dawn service!
The twilight show was a great idea, hosted by the Tonkinese Cat Club (Aust). This was a FCCQ show and was held at the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds. The downside was that the show continued through until 7pm as there were so many kitten exhibits to get through for the afternoon, considering in Qld all kittens, whether entire or desexed are judged together.
Today, KENZO and KOBE scored places with the judges in a 3 ring show. It was tough competition today, and as all judges commented "outstanding exhibits" for the show.
The judges were:
Ring 1 - Penny Bydlinski (United Kingdom)
Ring 2 - Chris Clewley (QICC)
Ring 3 - Jan Turney (FCCQ)
KENZO
Ring 3 - 4th Best In Show
Ring 3 - Best Burmilla
BONSAI
Ring 1 - Best Burmilla
Ring 2 - Best Burmilla
KOBE
Ring 1 - Best Burmilla Kitten
Ring 2 - Best Burmilla Kitten
Ring 3 - 7th Best In Show
Ring 3 - Best Burmilla Kitten
KOBE's 7th placing was a great achievement, considering there were a whopping 40 kitten exhibits to get through in each ring. So we are all very proud of our little boy!
As of the 10/4/2010 -
KOBE, SUMO and BONSAI are now all currently in the running for the
FCCQ "BEST OF BREED" Annual Awards.

28th March 2010 - Northern Feline Fancy of Qld Inc Show
KOBE and SUMO travelled to today's show with big brother's, Bonsai and Kenzo. The little one's are wonderful travellers in the car...not a peep from them!
Today's show consisted of 3 rings and the judges were:
Ring 1 - Cheryll Uren (FCCV - VIC)
Ring 2 - Rod Uren (FCCV - VIC)
Ring 3 - Judy Lewis (QFA - QLD)
KOBE and SUMO have wonderful temperaments on the show bench and were praised highly by all 3 judges for this beautiful quality as well as their condition and presentation.
As usual, KOBE couldn't wait to get amoungst it all, get some attention and show himself off. As a result of his "big cat in a kitten body" confidence, he did remarkably well with what we have seen, a record 45 kitten exhibits!!!
SUMO was just as gracious, and both babies were eager to entertain on the bench.
The Top 15 results were:-
KOBE
Ring 1 - 10th Best in Show
Best Burmilla
Ring 2 - 11th Best In Show
Best Burmilla
KOBE was also awarded a special rosette for "KITTEN ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD". This was very exciting as he has been commended with achievement for the future. Only 3 of these awards were presented among the 45 kitten exhibits today.
SUMO
Ring 1 - 14th Best In Show
Ring 3 - 15th Best In Show
Best Burmilla
Proud parents and babies have come home to a feast of cat sardines and tuna flakes (well....that's what the cats ate!!). A long day with so many kitten exhibits to get through, however the little boys held their own and performed like seasoned show cats!!!

Kobe with Rod Uren and Sumo with his pretty ribbon
15th February 2010
KOBE and SUMO have arrived in Brisbane on their very first flight. They will be making their new home with Sherin and Kevin and their half brothers, BONSAI and KENZO.
KOBE (Aaralyn Tokyo Snow) house name was named after the beautiful city of Kobe in Japan.
SUMO (Aaralyn Seiko Rain) house name came about because he was the biggest kitten in his litter of boys and had great big paws. So he was lovingly named our little Sumo wrestler!
The babies settled in straight away. Nothing seemed to phase them. Although they are small they are totally bullet proof. They were happy to have new friends in BONSAI and KENZO and approached them immediately.
BONSAI and KENZO, on the other hand, were not too sure but were very curious about the babies nonetheless.
After a week of sniffing and hissing and growling, they have all settled in. KOBE snuggles into BONSAI who repays him by by licking his head and face. It is just adorable to watch.
They all play together, however BONSAI and KENZO run out of puff way before the babies!
21st February 2010 - Pawpurrs Show 2010
The kittens, KOBE and SUMO did really well for such a huge number of kitten exhibits, of which only 3 exhibits were desexed (2 being our boys) out of a total of 33 exhibits. Their results were fantastic against some top quality breeders kittens:
SUMO
10th BEST IN SHOW - Ring 2 (Janis Christison QFA)
Best Burmilla (Ring 2)
The Judge, Janis Christison decided on a Top 12 in the kitten arena in Ring 2. SUMO was the only desexed kitten who made it into the Top 12, when he received his 10th place. A wonderful result when competing against predominantly entire kittens!
KOBE
Best Burmilla (Ring 1)
Best Burmilla (Ring 3)
KOBE did take his little 15 minutes of fame however, when he almost destroyed Janis Christison's feather. It brought an applause and laugh from the crowd. He is a very confident little kitten on the judges bench, so we hope he has a lot of potential down the track. Right now we are just adoring KOBE and SUMO being our adorable little babies!
28th February 2010 - Lockyer Valley All Breeds Show (CFCCQ)
KOBE was a real little star today and performed like a little angel on the show bench. SUMO was just as wonderful with lovely manners. Both these little boys love all the attention and are very comfortable being handled and judged. They both scored really well under judge Alan Davies and both were in the top 15 in that particular ring!
Their individual results are as follows:-
KOBE
3rd BEST IN SHOW - Ring 2 (Alan Davies - CFCCQ)
13th BEST IN SHOW - Ring 1 (Karen Moore - NSWCFA)
Best Burmilla - Ring 1
Best Burmilla - Ring 2
SUMO
9th BEST IN SHOW - Ring 2 (Alan Davies - CFCCQ)
A long day but it was a successful one. The babies fell asleep in the car on our way home, followed not far by Bonsai and Kenzo.
Kobe and Sumo are perfect travellers, not a peep from them!
